The North Face Women's Brooklyn Jacket

I bought this jacket in black last winter, and I'm coming back to Outdoorkit to buy the same one in other colour. Very pleased with the product (true to size, description, etc.) and the customer service.

My Brooklyn arrived today (fantastic delivery from Outdoor kit!) it's wet and very windy here today... I think if you take the time to 're-plump' the down (give good shake) then the insulation and warmth you get IS even.. In biting wind I was warm as toast with no 'cold spots' - so I HIGHLY recommend this jacket!!! Thank you Outdoor kit for a great winter sale the BEST prices I've found online and for great quick delivery! I'm a VERY happy customer.

So glad I read your reveiews. I too, work in a school and I am looking for a warm winter coat to get me through the cold winter months of playground duty. I was very close to purchasing this coat but am now looking elsewhere!

I bought this to get me through the one hour playground duty each day in the winter. I am disappointed in it's performance. Whilst it is warmer, there are several "cold patches" where there is no down, around the front of the neck and front of arms. The neck area is not comfy, zipping and buttoning up ends up with chaffing under your chin. It feels as though the fabric it too tight next to the waterproof outer layer and there is not enough space to trap the warm air. In theory it has the same tog value/down fill as the Parka, but I suspect the Parka is warmer. Looks good on, slim fitting, cosy hood, but not the warmest coat given the price. Having looked into it since, a lot depends on the type of feathers and how the down is filled, this one is poss compromised by the outer fabric.

This is a great jacket for the city. Unlike the shorter versions you won't get any kidney problems as it covers all your lower back even when you bend over. It's design is very stylish and it looks great when worn. Well engineered at the front. The only thing that would improve it would be zips on the armpits so that you don't boil inside when you need to go in and out of the tube. Great investment!
