Tilley TH5 Hemp Medium Curved Brim Hat

I have owned my Tilley hemp hat for over 6 years - Working as a gardener it gets a hard life out in all weathers, dropped on the ground, used for collecting fruits and nuts - being tossed in the back of the wagon with the tools: and on weekends used on camping hiking and canoe trips. It has faded to a beautiful weathered appearance (much like it's owner). Sadly I lost it and having exhausted all options as to places it could be I fear it is gone forever. So I need to start again and form more memories with a new one - I will always mourn the loss of my first Tilley hemp hat - But I didn't think twice about buying it's replacement - I suspect the original will grace it's finders head for years to come.

I bought this hat for a trip to America in 2013 having never heard of them I did not know what to expect. I would have been happy if it lasted for my month long trip hiking in Zion Bryce and the Grand canyon battered drowned and scorched in all weathers. It survived and more. Four years later, it is well weathered and travelled. It has just been with me to South East Asia. It is the best hat I have ever purchased and hope to get many more years wear. It does the job beautifully and of course I have recommended it to all my friends and family.

I have been wearing Tilley Hemp Hats since 2008, the first wore out after 5 years hard use and was replaced under the "never wear out" scheme - an excellent process. Sadly the second hat blew out of my hands on the Pirates of the Carribean" ride at Disneyworld and was lost never to be seen again - so now I'm buying an exact replacement. I think that speaks for the quality

Probably the best present I've EVER had. Like a favourite dog it's become a constant companion, an easy friend. Top of my kit list for any destination. Keeps the sun off my nose and rain out of my eyes. Like no other hat I've ever had it feels like it belongs on my head whatever the weather.
